How to Prevent Health Problems Brought by Ventura County Fires

Fire crews put out a brush fire Tuesday afternoon in Santa Paula, north of Highway 126, in what was to be the first of three such blazes in Ventura County during a three-hour stretch. The fire was reported at 1:30 p.m. near the intersection of East Telegraph and Whipple roads in eastern Santa Paula. It burned an estimated 7 to 8 acres, said Ventura County Fire Department Capt. Stan Ziegler.
The air quality is worst in and around fires burning from Ventura County to San Diego County, but the smoke has traveled to places not threatened by the flames. And with the Santa Ana winds dying down, officials say the smoke could stick around for a while. A week of major wind-whipped fires across Ventura County has caused significant air pollution and health problems.

Unknown to many, air ducts throughout homes and offices collect dust, dirt, and debris because of these brush fire events. Over time, most air ducts will accumulate mounds of particulate matter and can contribute to long-term health problems for people with asthma, emphysema or heart disease. According to experts every property owner, be it residential or commercial, should required air duct cleaning services in order to get rid of this particulate matter containing dust, allergens, and debris out of their air ducts and the entire HVAC system.

There are only few cleaning services in county, who are providing the best in class air duct and HVAC cleaning service for example “Air Duct Cleaning Ventura” is the professional air duct cleaning service based in Ventura County, California. The company is full registered and licensed to operate within the county. Also they are fully insured and bonded in order to ensure that any risk eventualities that occur are compensated accordingly and in good time.

“Our skilled technicians will inspect the HVAC system from top to bottom and then provide a recommendation as to whether ducts need cleaning. Air District officials recommend that if you smell smoke or see ash, take precautions and use common sense to reduce your exposure to smoke. All adults and children should:

  • Avoid Strenuous Outdoor Activity
  • Remain Indoors as Much as Possible
  • Close all Windows and Doors that Lead Outside to Prevent Bringing Smoke Inside
  • Clean and Set any Heating/Air Conditioning/Ventilation Systems to Recirculate

These precautions are especially important for children, older adults, and people with existing respiratory illness and heart conditions, as they are particularly vulnerable to the health effects of poor air quality. If you experience a cough, shortness of breath, wheezing, exhaustion, light-headedness or chest pain, stop any outdoor activity immediately and seek medical attention.
